Propulsion Controls Engineering, San Diego has been awarded a $317,466 fixed price contract for the USNS YUKON (T-AO 202) Voyage Repair for Military Sealift Command (MSC). The Yukon, the sixteenth ship of the Henry J. Kaiser class, was laid down at Avondale Shipyard, Inc., at New Orleans, Louisiana, on 13 May 1991 and launched on 6 February 1993.

She entered non-commissioned U.S. Navy service under the control of the Military Sealift Command with a primarily civilian crew on 25 March 1994. She serves in the United States Pacific Fleet. The work package includes Winch and FAS Station motor repairs, No. 2 Evaporator piping repairs, replacement of 250 feet of Oily Waste Piping and providing a 12 man ‘Tiger Team’ to support the ships on going maintenance. Work is to be performed in San Diego, CA and is expected to be completed by June 2011.
